I getting rather tired of the Death Wobble, so I replace the track bar in not very ideal conditions. I hate working on vehicle in the rain and cold. The track bar is replaced while I'm still on light duty with a kidney stint. I pay for it later.
Naturally, I ran into issues replacing the track bar.
The video I watched before installing the track bar.

It's Something: Short Quick Broadcast
Monday Apr 22, 2024
Monday Apr 22, 2024
I have about two months worth of content that hasn't hit the editor yet and about three produced podcasts waiting to post, but I wanted to take a little time to break in with a programming note of sorts with a very short podcast. The next show is gear-related. You'll want to listen to this because you're not going to believe the quality.

Everyday Tracks: Tracking with the TASCAM Portacapture X8
Monday May 06, 2024
Monday May 06, 2024
I took a break last week so I could produce this special episode.
I've used the TASCAM DR-07 for many years to record podcasts and other things, but it was aging and not very gracefully. I had been holding it together for years. It's time to something else.
In this episode:
Vintage radio promos and announcer lines
The history of the TASCAM DR-07 and what happened to it
It's not as portable as the DR-07, so recording with it and using other microphone isn't easy
It's more difficult when the wires and cable I'm using to record this are too long to use while mobile
Using a Rode NTG-1 shotgun microphone and Electrovoice RE-20 microphone with this podcast
Sample rate and bit depth features
Inputs and simultaneous recording channels (where the other 2 channels)
Included mics (2 channels, one for each), 4 balanced audio using combo XLR or TRS (using one each), Line-in (one for left and one for right) and USB (2 channels).
Features of the X8
Portacapture X8 launcher and its apps
Responsive touchscreen
FCC's announcement for mobile carrier's not receiving customers opt-in to share location data
Portacapture X8 has a limiter, compressor and EQ setting for each channel or tied together for stereo audio
Two channels are mixdown and used for only two of the included apps
Included mics can be arranged for A/B or X-Y recording

Everyday Tracks 11: A Lot of Jeep Stuff, Introducing A Special Feature
Thursday May 09, 2024
Thursday May 09, 2024
There's a lot of talk about my 2008 Jeep Wrangler X in this episode:
Oil change
Parking brake needs work
The transmission selector cable keeps coming off
The roads are rough
I want to take a trip in the Jeep, but I'm not sure if it'll make it. I do want to take a trip, though, but it'll probably be by plane.
The top on the Jeep needs replacing
I ripped the back window out of the Jeep.
The roads are a mess from the sheer amount of trash on the side of the road.

Everyday Tracks 12: Jeep Parts Still Have Not Come In
Tuesday May 21, 2024
Tuesday May 21, 2024
In this episode of Everyday Tracks:
Traction control system goes off when turning curves.
Likely because the axle moves
Still trying to catch up on homework
Ripped the back soft window out of the Jeep.
Speed limits in Tennessee are arbitrary. I hate being penalized for knowing how to drive better than most.

Everyday Tracks 13: Untitled
Wednesday Jun 12, 2024
Wednesday Jun 12, 2024
You'll know by listening to the intro what this podcast is all about. As of the typing of these show notes, my production computer suffered an unknown problem and unusable until more time is granted to me to diagnose the issue and eventually, fix it if possible.

ET 14: The DR-07 Foam Windscreen, Another Californian Moves Here, Drum Tuning
Wednesday Jun 19, 2024
Wednesday Jun 19, 2024
As I'll explain in another podcast episode, I got rid of the DR-07 that I've had since 2009. In this episode, I try to quieten the noise and wind coming into the microphones so I can have cleaner audio.
I met another Californian who moved here. Much like the rest, it became too expensive to live where she was at and she wanted more. Find out what she had to tell me.
I tuned my drums again.
Two special features in this episode. I find another city to move to that will provide me with a stable paycheck high enough to live in the city I would work in. Also in this episode, another part of my police academy experience.

Thursday Jun 27, 2024

Smart TVs are taking over the living room, but the are also taking over choice. They are a pain in the butt.
New warm wool jacket.
New-age front loader washer spazzes out.
Still looking at places to move to that is not Tennessee
Continuing with the special feature of my police academy experience.
